Tijuana’s mayor has awarded annual bonuses to 1,823 active local police officers, praising their dedication and operational performance in keeping the city safe.

Mayor Ismael Burgueño called the bonuses a recognition of the officers’ daily efforts, describing the department as “the best in the country” and expressing full support for their work.

“This is a small gesture for the important work you do every day,” Burgueño said. “Your commitment to this city and its people is unmatched, and you have my complete backing.”

City officials emphasized the importance of coordination between municipal police and state and federal authorities, noting that recent security successes in Baja California are the result of professional, well-coordinated efforts.
