Passenger traffic at Tijuana International Airport fell 4.2% in January 2026 compared with the same month last year, according to preliminary figures released by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (Pacific Airport Group, GAP).
In a statement, GAP reported that the decline came despite modest overall growth across its Mexican airport network. The company operates 12 airports in Mexico, which together recorded a 1.2% increase in passenger traffic in January 2026 compared with January 2025.

At Tijuana’s airport, domestic passenger traffic slipped 0.5%, while international travel dropped 10.9%. Use of the Cross Border Xpress (CBX), the pedestrian bridge connecting the airport with San Diego, fell 10.5% over the same period.
