For the first time, cultural institutions in Tijuana are partnering with an annual artistic celebration, offering 50% discounts to visitors throughout February, officially joining San Diego Museum Month 2026.

As sister cities separated by fewer than three kilometers, San Diego and Tijuana share a deeply interconnected history. From galleries and performing arts venues to botanical gardens and a state-of-the-art aquarium, the city presents a dynamic cultural landscape that highlights the history, heritage, and creative spirit of its people.

According to the San Diego Museum Council, Tijuana’s art scene has become a destination in its own right.

An Assortment of Museums in Tijuana
A cornerstone of that scene is the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut), a sprawling complex that serves as a hub for the arts. Visitors can explore marine life at its aquarium, view cutting-edge works in its contemporary art space, El Cubo, or delve into regional history at the Museum of the Californias.

In addition, the Tijuana History Museum focuses on the city’s unique local development and cultural identity, while the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMAC) fosters community engagement through regular cultural and educational programming.
