More than 7,000 residents across three Tijuana delegations have benefited from the removal of 40 tons of waste as part of the “Tijuana: Clean City” program, an initiative championed by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz to improve public spaces throughout the municipality.
The extensive cleanup operation targeted neighborhoods in the San Antonio de los Buenos, Playas de Tijuana, and Downtown delegations.

In San Antonio de los Buenos, crews descended on San Justino Street in the Vista Bella neighborhood, where they collected over 35 tons of trash. Workers also installed new street lighting and cleaned 500 square meters of roadway, which will positively impact more than 2,000 local residents.

The initiative then moved to Bahía Kino Street in the Lomas del Porvenir neighborhood in the Playas de Tijuana delegation. There, teams installed LED lighting, pruned 10 trees, refreshed 300 linear meters of road signage, and hauled away more than 5 tons of waste, improving conditions for over 1,500 Tijuana residents.
