Tijuana is set to host a vibrant cultural event aimed at celebrating and promoting the rich heritage of Mexico’s indigenous communities. The “Raíces, Arte y Fogón” (Roots, Art, and Hearth) Handicraft Expo-Forum will take place on Friday, March 20th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., inviting residents to experience the traditions and artistry of native peoples.

The expo, organized by the Municipal Directorate of Assistance to Indigenous Peoples (DIMAPI), will transform the esplanade of the Mother’s Monument at the Municipal Palace into a bustling market and cultural hub. Attendees can look forward to exploring and purchasing unique handmade crafts, savoring traditional gastronomy, and enjoying live artistic performances and informative talks throughout the day.

The event is an initiative led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s administration, channeled through the Secretariat of Humanist Development. It seeks to not only provide a platform for indigenous artisans to showcase their work but also to strengthen the cultural fabric of the Tijuana community.
With this expo, the 25th City Hall of Tijuana underscores its dedication to fostering inclusion and respect for cultural diversity, reinforcing the social fabric and working towards a more just and inclusive city for all its residents.
