Christopher Teal, the U.S. consul in Tijuana, paid a courtesy visit to the Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana (ITT), one of the city’s leading universities and a key academic reference in the border region.
During his visit, Teal met with José Guillermo Cárdenas, director of ITT, and members of his team to discuss the role of higher education in regional development.

University officials emphasized ITT’s importance as a training ground for skilled professionals, particularly in engineering fields, and its direct contribution to strategic sectors along the border that rely on highly specialized talent.
