Congress in Mexico this morning reported that the "App" project that would allow its members to stay connected from their mobile phones and electronic tablets, has been canceled. This decision to begin with created a huge controversy as the cost of the project was estimated at 10 million dollars.

The suspension of this project for right now is indefinite, which government officials also stressed that there has not been a payment or any payment will be made to Legislative Pulse, the company that was contracted for this project.

Legislative Pulse highlighted that this App was going to be more difficult to develop, and tried to justify its high cost with this reason. Normally, this type of service would cost around 500 thousand dollars in the market. But since this App was going to be specifically for every member of Congress, this is the reason of its high cost that was approved back in late 2012.

Another reason for the cancellation was that at least 51 members of Congress, including the President, would not use it, why? Because of their poor knowledge with technological devices, and also because the information that was going to be given to them through this App, it's currently available to them in other types of media.
