President of Guatemala Has Inmunity Taken Away

The country's Congress also ruled an injuction

Once again, Guatemala has made history, given that its legislators prevented its trustee from shielding behind political jurisdiction and is now facing a legal process. This measure was taken upon after the costums corruption scandal involving President Otto Perez Molina.

The decision of unbridling Peres Molina was unanimous with 132 votes in favor, one against and 26 absences. This voting was hailed inside the deputy palace with hundreds of citizens waiting outside (this segment has been massively broadcast during the last few weeks).

The injuction took place in order to prevent Perez to skip town while the investigation is still on going, which involves a network of bribes and lower exchange rates. During this operation head of tax administration and former Vice President, Roxana Baldetti.
