You Need To Try The Revolutionary Mexican "Pixza"

A pizza parlor with a cause

There is a unique pizza parlor around the streets of Colonia Juarez in Mexico City where dough is made with blue corn and its flavors are filled with Mexican culture.

Alejandro Souza along with his business partner, Luis Yañez, cooked up the idea while having a chat of something they ended up calling "Pixza". The letter x inside the word, represents their Mexican roots the same way dough does by being made from blue corn. Chapulines, chorizo, rajas, enchiladas, tamales, and chiles rellenos; are some of the flavor you can in this small yet meaningful shop.

Pixza has turned into a reality that goes beyond a delicious slice of pizza, given that is has a social commitment with its community. For every 5 slices that are sold, they give away a one pizza to people that lack of food. This is just on a first phase, they also give out a sort of coupon that can be used to take a bath, get a haircut, visit the doctor or to just simply get a T-shirt.

Some of the beneficiaries, seek a follow up that provides them with an opportunity to work inside or out Pixza. As if this wasn't enough, there is something called "Horno Social" (Social Oven) were they allow other entrepreneurs to invent their own pizza flavor which is sold throughout the month, taking all the proceed to help a cause or project.
