Forbes Mexico Names Tijuana Native as One of Country's Most Creative People

He shares the list with personalities like Cuaron, Lubezki and Iñárritu, among others...

"Tijuanense" Alfredo "Libre" (Free) Gutiérrez has made it on Forbes Mexico's latest list of the "Most Creative Mexicans in the World".

An architect by profession, but a muralist of passion, has left a mark thanks to his magnificent colorful creations in various parts of the country, and he has not been the exception in his hometown Tijuana, because he is a promoter of art in the streets.

The streets have been the showcases where he most shows off his works, setting a precedent for others and, above all, letting people enjoy his work everyday.

Recently, "Libre" -as he's called- was also added to the list of personalities of the city that are in the Walk of Fame of Tijuana.

And although he has tried to boost his creations in Tijuana, it has been in Mexico City where he has consolidated his work. He struggled to adapt at first, but recently, projects have flowed more and more in the border city.

In the past months he also inaugurated the controversial mural behind the old Jai Alai in the city of Tijuana, a mural with the participation of other artists from different parts of the world that portrays the subject of migration.

His curiosity led him to abandon architecture to devote himself to his passion, muralism, an artistic expression that has taken him to the streets of some of the world's main cities.

Alfredo "Libre" Gutiérrez shares the list with more than 50 great personalities, such as Jonás Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Diego Luna and Emmanuel Lubezki.
