If the U.S. Issues New Travel Alert About Tijuana, Blame Taxi Drivers

The president of Cotuco warned that this alert is latent due to recent incidents involving yellow taxi cabs

The attacks or assaults to tourist buses and Uber cars at the border in Tijuana by rival taxi drivers, is worrying the tourist industry and the president of the Tourism and Conventions Committee of Tijuana (Cotuco), Francisco Villegas, who says that if this situation keeps being ignored, the United States could issue an alert so that its citizens stop visiting the city.

Villegas says that although these alerts have always been used against the country in general, they do directly affect the region, especially on holidays.

"We have pointed out the situation to the correspondent authority, we cannot afford to have aggressive public transport drivers, which instead of promoting tourism, they're threats... is a delicate issue," Villegas told Uniradio regarding yellow taxi cabs.
