The General Services Administration of the United States (GSA) has announced this Thursday that during the month of January they will continue to make partial closures in the lanes heading to Tijuana-San Ysidro, as well as San Ysidro -Tijuana.

On Highway 5 South, a lane will be closed on the west end, during the nights of Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 from 4:00 am to 2:00 pm. According to the GSA, these days and hours have been chosen because there will be little vehicular traffic, as well as to ensure the safety of travelers and workers.

On the other hand, the night closures of three of the six northbound exit lanes leading to Interstate 5 north at the San Ysidro post office will continue until January 31, while the exit to the Rail Court ramp will remain closed at the same time. This will take place from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.

Each of the closures is part of phase 3 and 2 of the GSA project, respectively, the first to realign the I-5 south and the second to complete the installation of a bridge that would pass over the East lanes of exit, connecting the new building with the existing administrative building.
