Lemon is one of the basics ingredients for Mexicans

In the last week of February, lemon was one of the basic products that went up in price to 20 pesos, compared to the previous week; while the other foods showed mixed variations in some markets of the country.

In Tijuana, Baja California, the markets maintained the same prices as last week in products such as: egg, avocado, sugar, tomato, lemon and onion, which were offered in 75, 63, 30, 35, 30, and 24 pesos the kilo, in that order.

The Federal Consumer Attorney (Profeco) reported that in self-service stores the bag with two kilos of sugar was sold at 49.20 pesos; while the kilo of avocado, lemon and onion were offered in 41.39, 30.34 and 15.35 pesos, in that order. Tomato lowered the price to 6.87 pesos.
