Recommendations to visit the snow at Sierra San Pedro Mártir

Baja California received a storm last week, which left behind a lot of snow in the mountainous areas of the region. If you love to make snow angels it is better that you start preparing because the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir continues with snow.

This past Sunday, December 1, the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park announced that it opened to the public. Baja Californians may attend to enjoy the snow; however, it is important that they take into consideration some recommendations.

If you want to go in the next few days and want to be sure that there is snow, just enter the live footage of the Sierra San Pedro Mártir. There you will be able to know if there is snow at the moment.

These are the recommendations issued by the national park:

  • Schedule: From 7:00 am to 4:00 pm [li]Wear appropriate clothing; jacket, snow shoes, thermal, hat, gloves, scarf.
  • Carry-on prepared food, if you can a portable stove. The park does not have shops, restaurants or gas stations.
  • It can only be climbed by double traction vehicle: once it reaches the snowy section, the maximum speed is 10 km/h.
  • Check your vehicle before boarding and verify that it is in optimal condition, there is no mechanical service in the area.
