The abuse of power is one of the biggest problems that exist not only in our country, but, in the whole world. Despite everything that comes with the coronavirus, the big problem is that it has made those negative aspects in our society more noticeable than in the past.
For example, the things happening on the highways of Rosarito and Tijuana, where several cases of abuse of this nature have already been reported, where, mainly, U.S. citizens are affected.
On July 3rd, it was revealed that some police officers stopped tourists to ask them for money. According to reports on social media, a man named Jacinto, owner of a surf shop, set out to defend the people.
This did not end well. A video shows how the man was beaten and forced into a police car. His wife was also taken in because she was the one recording the incident.
This event was controversial because tourists are one of the most important sources of income of the town. In fact, as it was informed, the detained foreigner was in Rosarito to buy a condominium.
On the other hand, the writer Daniel Salinas Basave posted on his Facebook a statement where he manifested himself against the actions of the police officers, he finds these events to be conflicting.
"Poor Rosarito, the suicidal town par excellence, the one who seems to cling to slashing the fountain that feeds him every day... What does Rosarito live on? From tourism and real estate investments in the coastal corridor," said Basave on his Facebook account.
It should be noted that the person who the police tried to extort, cancelled his contract and promised that he would never return to Mexico.
