Which essential trips can cross the Tijuana-San Diego border?

These restrictions were applied March 21st

As reported through this site, restrictions to cross from Mexico to the United States were extended until August 21 this year, as part of the strategies adopted by both countries to prevent the spread of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

In response, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) informed El Mexicano that the reason for crossing the border is reviewed first, rather than the visa.

The bilateral agreement with Mexico does not specify sanctions, such as removing the visa of those who ask to cross, but in order to clarify the reasons why it is allowed to cross or not, CBP provided a Notice of Temporary Restrictions that apply at the ports of entry.

This document emphasizes that "individuals traveling for tourism purposes, such as tourism, recreation, gambling, or cultural events" will not be allowed to enter the United States.

Nor can people who want to visit family, friends or make purchases across the border.
