Mexico surpasses the United Kingdom and becomes the third country with the highest number of deaths

There are also counting 90 thousand and 22 people that are waiting for their results

On July 31st during the update number 154 about the coronavirus situation in our country, as it has been done every afternoon since March, the numbers for the last 24 hours were released.

In a live transmission from Puebla, the Secretary of Health, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, was in charge of presenting these numbers: Mexico has a total of 424 thousand 637 coronavirus cases.

On the other hand, there are 46 thousand 688 deaths caused by this virus. This places Mexico in 3rd place in deaths globally. For several weeks our country was in 4th place, just behind the United Kingdom, however, today it surpassed the European country and took third place.

There are also 90 thousand and 22 people waiting for their results. According to information from past updates, of the number of suspects, approximately 45 thousand people will test positive for COVID-19.

The graphs shown in the release press, have not changed much in recent months since the entities with the highest number of infections are Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

Regarding hospital availability, it's still at more than 50% in most states, except in those mentioned above as well as Nuevo Leon, Tabasco and Colima, which have more than 40% of hospital occupation.

Baja California has 59% of available general hospital beds, while it has 49% of available critical hospital beds. In the same way, they announced that the state is already under the orange light of the epidemiological traffic light chart.
