Baja California is among the top 10 destinations for "El Grito" (Independence Day in Mexico )

84% of Mexicans will travel to national destinations this September 16

The Mexican country is reactivating its tourism and gastronomy after the pandemic caused by the coronavirus around the world, these sectors have taken sanitary measures to begin to welcome thousands of people in a safe way and to achieve a safe economic reactivation.

Given this panorama, the travel agency Expedia announced that many Mexicans have already begun to plan a little post-quarantine escape, on the occasion of the expected Independence Day in Mexico this September 16, to relax a little. Most of them, 84%, will travel to national destinations and of those, 60% will go to some beach.

The five main destinations preferred by travelers are

1. Cancun
2. Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen and Tulum
3. Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit
4. Mazatlan
5. Acapulco

About 20% of the bookings are for "Magic Towns" and countryside escapes and 15% plan to travel to urban areas.

8. Nuevo Leon
9. Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
10. Mexico City
