Tijuana close to 7 thousand infections by COVID-19

The border city is the second municipality that has and increase in its cases after Mexicali

According to the recent report presented this Saturday morning by Health Secretary Alonso Perez Rico, Baja California continues to show an increase in its cases.

As of the October 23rd, cut-off date, the state has 509 active cases, of which Mexicali and Tijuana are where most of them are concentrated.

In turn, both the state capital and the border city are the ones that have registered more new cases in one day, since of the 134 reported in the state, 53 were in Mexicali and 35 in Tijuana, following Ensenada with 30.

These new cases have led Tijuana to add 6 thousand 965 accumulated positive cases, while Mexicali remains the most affected municipality with 9 thousand 689 of the 21 thousand 527 reported by Baja California.

On the other hand, the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 increased to 3 thousand 773, one thousand 638 were residents of Mexicali and one thousand 565 of Tijuana.

Perez Rico also reported that the recovery of 15 thousand and 20 patients has been observed in the region, as shown below:
