Baja California close to 500 active COVID-19 cases

The entity also continues to increase the number of intubated patients, which so far totals 105

The Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, informed this Friday, October 30, the increase of active COVID-19 cases that are being observed in Baja California, which adds up to the cut of October 29, 478, of which 266 are located in Mexicali.

In turn, the state reported 122 new cases by PCR, according to Dr. Perez Rico, which were registered in the following manner in the different municipalities: 53 in Mexicali, 32 in Tijuana, 20 in Ensenada, 9 in San Quintin, 4 in Tecate and 4 in Rosarito.

In light of this, positive cases rose to 22 thousand and 73, of which only 9 thousand 963 belong to the state capital, a municipality that also has the highest number of people who have died from this disease, with one thousand 665 deaths out of the 3 thousand 841 registered in the region.

The Secretary of Health also announced the number of patients who are currently intubated, which is 105, while a month ago there were 60 people in this condition.

Although the number of recovered patients has also increased to 15 thousand 701, the Secretary insisted that prevention measures must continue to avoid further infections.

To this end, he presented some examples of situations that show how one or several people can contract COVID-19 by not complying with the use of face masks and social distancing while being in a shared space.
