Will we return to confinement in 2 weeks? Everything seems to indicate that we will

High mobility during Halloween and low temperatures will lead to a rise in the number of cases

Baja California could return to confinement and closure of non-essential activities within 2 weeks. The indicators are clear: The high mobility of people during Halloween and Day of the Dead, as well as the low temperatures could lead to an alarming rise in COVID-19 cases.

The Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, indicated that "If we go to red there is nothing we can do, it is published in the Official Journal of the Federation, it is an indication, and if we go to red, it is because hospitals, fever clinics, intubated patients are growing, of course we have to fear, of course as businessmen, as owners, as workers".

In addition, sources close to the Canirac, who know the panorama of restaurants in the region, said that these actions could be applied very soon.

If so, when will we return to the confinement, some speculate that it could be in two weeks, after the "buen fin", and the date would also coincide with the time needed to know if the people who went out on Halloween caused more infections. At the same time, low temperatures will be felt in the state next week, with minimums of up to 42 degrees Fahrenheit.

We must remember that the red light is conditioned by the increase of patients in public hospitals and the rise of positive COVID-19 cases.

"As of October 31, the next 10 to 14 days we are estimating and waiting for many patients in our fever clinics, many patients to be hospitalized, many patients to enter intensive care, to require automated mechanical ventilation and many who will lose the battle," said Perez Rico.

In the last 24 hours, 43 new cases were confirmed in the state, of which 13 are from Mexicali, 11 from Tijuana, 8 from Ensenada, 3 from San Quintin, 6 from Tecate and 2 more from San Felipe. As for unfortunate deaths, 2 happened in Mexicali and 3 in Ensenada.
