These Tijuana neighborhoods are identified with active COVID-19 cases

The Secretary of Health said that most of the people who have tested positive were infected and developed the disease in their neighborhood.

As every Tuesday the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico presented the geolocation of the active COVID-19 cases in Baja California during the update, and with it the neighborhoods where transmission chains are identified.

To date, the state has registered 429 active cases, of which 90 are located in the border city, with the next five neighborhoods where more attention should be paid, according to Perez Rico.

These neighborhoods are:

  • Buenos Aires Sur (4 active cases)
  • Nueva Tijuana (4 active cases)
  • El Refugio (3 active cases)
  • Villa Fontana (3 active cases)
  • Loma Bonita (3 active cases)

"Most of the people who are testing positive unfortunately got infected and developed the disease within their neighborhood," the Secretary of Health said in the live transmission.

He added that the objective of making the neighborhoods known is so that both the activities that take place there and the people who are part of them are informed of the danger that exists.

Unfortunately, the pandemic is not yet over and Baja California has 22 thousand 419 accumulated positive cases, 3 thousand 861 deaths, and at least 16 thousand 250 patients recovered.
