The economy will not recover unless the Tijuana-San Diego border is reopened: Todd Gloria

Democratic lawmaker Todd Gloria, who is running for mayor of San Diego, argues his case on the border issue.

Democratic candidate Todd Gloria, who is now running for mayor of San Diego, comments to the media that the economy will not recover unless the border is reopened.

As is well known, the border is not the same since the COVID-19 contingency, and following the new provisions for essential travelers.

Aside from recognizing that this factor is important in pushing the region forward Todd points out that, his long career as a public servant and the relationships he has forged in the federation, state and locality is an important part of trying to make changes on the border.

Gloria carries 56% of the votes for San Diego mayor, unlike his opponent Barbara Bray with 44%, according to the San Diego County Election Registry.

For her part, Barbara Bry acknowledged Todd Gloria's victory this morning.

Todd Gloria, currently a California state assemblyman, represents the 78th district. He was a former San Diego alderman and council president.
