Despite the mobility that has been observed recently in Baja California, this Saturday morning, November 14, Health Secretary Alonso Pérez Rico, reported that the state will continue to be under the orange traffic light.

According to Dr. Pérez Rico's report, the region reported 75 new COVID-19 cases: 33 of them in Tijuana, 26 in Mexicali, five in San Quintín, four in Ensenada, four in San Felipe, two in Tecate and one in Rosarito. With these numbers the accumulated positive cases increased to 23 thousand 577, with the state capital remaining with 10 thousand 620, the majority of these cases.

At the same time, 10 Baja Californians have died from the new coronavirus in Baja California in the last 2 days: six of them were Tijuana residents, two Mexicali residents and two more from the port of Ensenada. Thus, the entity totals 4 thousand and 20 unfortunate deaths from COVID-19, Mexicali being the most affected, registering one thousand 719 of this total.

And although 17 thousand 816 patients have won the battle against this disease, the current hospital occupation in Baja California is 38.3%, with 489 beds and 160 ventilators available, and with 245 patients still hospitalized.

In the case of the Effective Reproduction Rate, which indicates how many people a person with COVID-19 can infect, it is 0.9, which means one.

Given this, and the fact that there are 488 active cases to date, the authorities are asking us not to let down our guard and to continue helping to avoid further infections.
