Baja California started this Tuesday, November 17, with 314 active COVID-19 cases, of which 161 are located in Mexicali, 72 in Ensenada, 43 in Tijuana, 23 in San Quintín, eight in Tecate, six in San Felipe and one in Rosarito.
Like every Tuesday, State Health Secretary Alonso Pérez Rico presented the neighborhoods where these active cases are located, indicating that in Mexicali "the Pro Hogar neighborhood is the most contaminated in the entire state".
This neighborhood registers 7 active cases, so Pérez Rico emphasized taking greater precautions in this area.
In Tijuana, the Zona Río is the area with the highest concentration of transmission chains, with three active cases. Other neighborhoods in this same city where prevention measures and protocols must also be followed and reinforced are:
- Terrazas de la Presa (2 active cases)
- El Dorado (2 active cases)
- Villa del Real (2 active cases)
- El Pipila (2 active cases)
- Ampliación Guaycura (2 active cases)
- Torres del Lago (2 active cases)
- Alemán (2 active cases)
- Los Laureles (2 active cases)
As of today, Baja California has 23 thousand 652 positive cases, continuing in the top 3: Mexicali with 10 thousand 647 confirmed cases, Tijuana with 7 thousand 560 and Ensenada with 3 thousand 191.
In the case of deaths, these increased to 4 thousand and 56, with these three municipalities also registering the majority of them: Mexicali with one thousand 727, Tijuana with one thousand 711 and Ensenada with 445.
