Baja California asks to only make essential trips at border crossings due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the U.S.

During this Monday´s transmission from the government center, the COVID-19 report was released in relation to Baja California and the U.S. counties near the region.

According to the authorities, the trends in Arizona, the Valley of Imperial County and San Diego in the last 14 days have been increasing, currently counting with an incidence per hundred thousand inhabitants of 182, 140 and 61, respectively. Baja California maintains its highest incidence of 40, corresponding to Mexicali, an abysmal difference if we compare it with the lowest one that in this case which belongs to San Diego.

Based on this, the jurisdiction asked the entire population crossing into the United States to increase the measures indicated by the local health department, and also to use public transportation with caution, reiterating that they only make essential trips.

A total of 15 million 932 thousand 116 cases are currently registered in the United States from January 23rd to December 13th, with 213 thousand 305 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours. In terms of deaths, 2 thousand 283 were recorded the previous day, with a final balance of 296 thousand 818 deaths from COVID-19.

In California the record indicates 30 thousand 334 new cases, with 13 thousand and 47 hospitalizations, 2 thousand 820 in Intensive Care and 122 more people who unfortunately have lost their battle against the disease.
