A GofundMe for a 77-year-old woman seriously affected by COVID-19 to stay in hospital

Despite having health insurance, they have refused to cover their illness

Through GofundMe , the family of Julieta López Figueroa, a woman over 77 years of age, is asking for financial support so that she can stay in the hospital, since she is in serious condition due to a COVID-19 infection.

According to the family members, the whole family was infected with coronavirus, including an uncle who unfortunately has already passed away at the General Hospital facilities. However, Julieta had medical insurance that allowed her to be admitted to a private hospital.

In the end, the insurance reached its limit and did not cover part of her stay and $35,000 dollars have accumulated in only 4 days. Where she is hospitalized, they are threatening to take her out if she does not pay the $60,000 fee, which is why they have decided to use GofundMe and ask the community for help.

Here is a fragment of the letter written by the family members, to read the complete version you can click on this link:

"...after three days of searching for a hospital we finally found a hospital and now the insurance company refuses to cover my aunt's expenses and the hospital is threatening to take her out. The bill to date is 35,000 dlls in 4 days and there are still days left if God allows her to stay with us, we haven't had any peace in a month".
