Snowfall expected in Baja California

Rain may be accompanied by light snowfall

The drop in temperatures in Tijuana, Baja California, will cause snowfalls in high areas, which will be derived from the low temperatures we will have during this week's start in the northwestern part of the country.

Salvador Cervantes, State Coordinator of Civil Protection, said this morning that the rain forecast that began Sunday night and will last all day Monday until Tuesday, will cause heavy frosts in the region, which could lead to snow in some mountainous areas of the state.

Tijuana, Rosarito, Tecate and Ensenada will be at a temperature that ranges from 59°F to 66°F, while La Rumorosa and El Hongo will be the areas where snowfall is expected, with Mexicali being the city where temperatures will increase a few degrees more by staying at 68°F to 77°F. It is also expected that the intensity of these rains will be light to moderate but it is worth mentioning that even so, they will continue during the period of time previously dictated.

Likewise, Cervantes indicated that it was important for citizens to take precautions so that they could diagnose possible risk areas in their homes, as well as to go out only as strictly necessary and clean the public sewage system , avoid throwing garbage so as not to generate stagnation in the streets of the city, in addition to using the corresponding winter clothing and ensuring that the vehicle we use is in perfect condition.
