COVID-19: Mexico has already registered more than 1.8 million infections

The Mexican Republic is getting closer and closer to reaching 2 million cases of COVID-19.

As of today, a total of 153 thousand 609 deaths due to the coronavirus have been recorded in Mexico, as in less than 24 hours, one thousand 623 more deaths have been added.

Regarding the level of infections, this Wednesday 17 thousand 944 positive cases were registered, which added to the accumulated number that has been reported since the beginning of the pandemic last March 2020, results in one million 806 thousand 849 infections.

A slight increase in the national mortality rate was also reported, which went from 8.4% to 8.5%, according to a report presented at the National Palace.

In terms of hospital occupancy, the states with the lowest number of available beds are Mexico City with a total occupancy of 88%, Guanajuato with 84% and the State of Mexico with 83%. It is estimated that there are approximately 109 thousand 906 active cases and already more than 362 thousand people who have fortunately managed to overcome the SARS CoV-2 virus.

Campeche remains as the only Mexican state to remain under the green traffic light, it is worth mentioning that vaccination has already begun in the education sector so that they can return to classes as soon as possible.
