According to Secretary of Health Alonso Perez Rico, depending on the number of doses of anti-COVID vaccine that arrive in the next third shipment to Baja California, which is expected to arrive between February 14 and 16, the vaccination of front line health workers will continue and after that with the elderly and the rest of the groups, as stated in the national plan.

"We will vaccinate close to 13 thousand workers who are waiting to receive their second dose," said the head of this agency.

To cover 100% of the health personnel in Baja California, approximately 27 thousand vaccines would be missing, since according to Perez Rico, there are 40 thousand health workers in the state, including those belonging to the public and private sectors.

The vaccine that will arrive in this third shipment is from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, and it is most likely that the second drug to be applied in the region will be Sputnik V; however, the deadlines and terms regarding the latter will be informed in due time, said the Secretary last Sunday, February 7.
