The U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana informed through its official Facebook account that it has suspended routine services. Although, they inform that they are working on emergencies and renewals.
The opportunity to invite those interested in obtaining passports and renewing tourist visas to attend a virtual conference where information will be provided on these topics that are of great importance to the border community was taken.
“We invite you this Wednesday, February 24th at 3:00 p.m. (Tijuana time) to a Facebook Live where Consulate officials will answer your questions and doubts about the consular services offered by the consulate during the COVID-19 pandemic”.
You can click here to schedule and attend this Consular Services talk. So far, Tijuana is offering visa non-interviews and renewals. Likewise, F, M and J categories will be available for students.
Meanwhile, E1 and H2 types will be possible only in emergency cases. At the moment there is no service for those who are trying to obtain the B1 and B2 tourist visas for the first time, according to the consulate.
It is reminded that those who have less than 24 months with an expired visa will have the opportunity to renew it without the need of an interview, they only have to fulfill the requirements listed in this note.
IMPORTANT NOTE: all services may present significant delays in obtaining visas.
