This Monday they seek to vaccinate almost 7 thousand seniors in Mexicali

23 thousand 400 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived in Baja California on Sunday night, which will be applied to senior citizens in the Urban Zone of Mexicali, informed the Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Perez Rico.

With these vaccines, and the 23 thousand 700 that are in storage from the last shipment, there are more than 47 thousand 100 doses of this drug against COVID-19.

During his daily report, the head of this agency confirmed that with this shipment from Pfizer, mass vaccination will begin at the FEX in Mexicali as planned, starting this Monday, March 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Perez Rico commented that the plan is to vaccinate between 5 thousand and 7 thousand adults over 60 years of age per day at these facilities. For this purpose, there will be 18 modules, in which logistics were created to vaccinate up to 130 people in their vehicles in a maximum of 40 minutes. This, in addition to the pedestrian access that will be available at the FEX.

On the other hand, the three vaccination sites that operated this weekend in Mexicali, after the vaccination was cancelled at the FEX due to indications from federal authorities, managed to vaccinate 3 thousand elderly people.

It is worth mentioning that on Sunday 21 thousand 894 doses of the Sinovac vaccine also arrived, which will be destined for senior citizens in the rural and suburban areas of Ensenada.
