Mexico accumulates more than 2 million 151 thousand COVID-19 infections

Today, 6 thousand 470 new cases of coronavirus were registered.

This Thursday, the Secretariat of Health (SS) informed that Mexico now has 2 million 151 thousand 28 COVID_19 cases, registering 6 thousand 470 new infections in 24 hours, according to information provided by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP).

As for deaths caused by the SARS Cov-2 virus, 654 more deaths were recorded in the Mexican Republic on the last day, giving a national accumulated total of 193 thousand 142 unfortunate deaths. The case fatality rate finally increased to 9%, which means that for every 100 Mexicans infected with COVID-19, 9 lose the battle against the disease.

The indicator calculated on the basis of confirmed infections, the percentage of positivity and the epidemiological associations formulated by the SS, predicts that there could already be close to 2 million 345 thousand 863 cases of coronavirus in Mexico.

Regarding hospital occupancy in the country, there is 74% availability in general hospitalization beds, while 71% of beds with a ventilator, used to treat more serious patients, are unoccupied.

The Undersecretary of Health Promotion and Prevention, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, informed that vaccination is progressing at a steady pace in Mexico, with 208 thousand 330 people vaccinated this Thursday.

Finally, it was announced that Mexico is approaching the figure of 350 thousand doses administered per day and if this increase in vaccination continues until reaching 500 thousand vaccines per day, it would be possible to complete the vaccination scheme in the adult population by the end of the year, but this will only depend on the timely delivery of the shipments of anti-COVID immunizers.
