In order to prevent a third wave of COVID-19 infections, the Director of Health Promotion, Ricardo Cortes Alcala, asked the Mexican population to avoid leaving home during the Easter holiday period as a way of, at least, minimizing the infections as much as possible after the holiday season.

The official pointed out that in view of the marked decrease in cases of coronavirus, it is necessary to "be prudent" in terms of going out and, if another wave should arise, it could be much less than those previously registered.

Likewise, Cortes Alcala mentioned that the so-called "third wave" of SARS Cov-2 could be lower than the "second wave", which is just concluding, and it is foreseen that if we continue as before, it will continue to decrease until maintaining "a plateau or valley", although there is still a risk of an increase of infections as progress is made in the reopening of socioeconomic activities.

It was also reiterated that "society must grow" and through co-responsibility for health and greater responsibility in individual actions and care, in the next "epidemic waves" the states will not even reach the orange traffic light.

Finally, it was reported that once people between 50 and 60 years of age have been fully immunized, COVID-19 deaths will be reduced by about 80% and thus we would finally have the element of anti-COVID vaccination prevention on our side.
