Mario Escobedo Carignan, Baja California's Secretary of Sustainable Economy and Tourism, stated that during the Easter holiday period there will be no restrictions on crossing from the United States into Mexico.

With this, tourists will have free access to the national territory and will not be required to take a PCR test to rule out COVID-19.

The issue of restricting essential crossings is only for the southern border, it would not even be the time to do it in the north, because in the American states bordering Mexico the incidence is decreasing. There would be no basis to carry it out and even less so before Easter".

He indicated.

The Secretary of Tourism emphasized that Spring break is important for the recovery of the tourist businesses, since they depend on the arrival of visitors to recover part of what was lost during the last year.

He asked that the protocols be complied with and that those who visit us, also be respectful and "we can enjoy the vacation we are looking forward to so much," he said. "It will be the live or die for many small and medium-sized businesses."

In order to guarantee the safety and integrity of citizens and tourists, the three levels of government have formally initiated the Spring Break operation. For this purpose, Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) will open all its toll booths during the next few weeks. The National Guard will carry out operations throughout the state, and municipal authorities will assist with patrolling bars and recreational areas.
