As of March 19, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates General in Mexico are now resuming, on a limited basis, appointments for routine passport, citizenship and other notary services. They also announce that availability is reduced.

This is due to the fact that they are still considering sanitary measures such as keeping a healthy distance and the use of masks at all times. In some of the locations, applicants for certain services will be able to use a drop-off program for passport renewals without prior appointment.

In order for the person interested in this to know the locations and schedules, they are requested to enter this website to consult them. On the other hand, they inform that passport and citizenship applications will require an interview, although they share that due to the high demand the process to obtain an appointment may be slow.

The Embassy recommends that to be informed at all times: "Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive notifications and facilitate your location in case of an emergency". This is in case of emergency travel.
