Mexico could soon emerge from the pandemic thanks to its vaccination rhythm, says SHCP

Nearly 7 million vaccines have been administered in Mexican territory

Arturo Herrera, Secretary of Finance, announced that Mexico is close to getting out of the pandemic thanks to its vaccination rhythm, assuring that it is a matter of months for the country to return to the situation it was in before the arrival of the coronavirus.

During an event in Illinois, Chicago, where "Welfare Bank" cards were delivered to Mexican migrants to facilitate the sending of resources to their families, the official acknowledged how difficult this situation has been for the whole world, although he declared that the Mexican Republic is about to "enter the exit".

According to Herrera, the rate of vaccines that have been applied in Mexican territory indicates that in a few months we could return to a new normality, similar to that which was experienced before the pandemic and although it does not compare with the speed of the application of anti-COVID doses in the United States, a country that applies close to 3 million doses per day, they really have an important daily advance.

Even with the rapid implementation of the U.S. vaccination plan, the Secretary highlighted the difference that exists between the immunization of Hispanics and non-Hispanics, since the percentage is much lower when compared to the rate of inoculation registered so far in U.S. residents.

Currently in Mexico, close to 6.5 million doses against COVID-19 have been applied, which have been distributed among health and educational personnel and adults over 60 years of age, while the country has received more than 10 million 758 thousand 845 immunizations as a whole, thanks to the agreements made with the companies Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca, SinoVac, CanSino and Sputnik V.
