Taqueria Tijuana JR surprises with its octopus chicharron taco.

Discover the taste that this taco left in chef Danny Betancourt's mouth, for only 65 pesos.

Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana does not stop and continues to search for the best tacos in the border city, to try them and rate them.

On this occasion, chef Danny Betancourt visited "Tijuana JR" tacos, located on the corner of Juan Sarabia and Melchor Ocampo avenues, in Zona Centro.

Although he only tried two of their tacos, one of them was the one that surprised him the most, find out what he thought and how he rated it.

Ensenada Style Taco

For $24 pesos, this taqueria offers this battered fish taco, "which is quite a generous portion," said chef Danny. It also has cabbage and a little pico de gallo, served on a white tortilla.

Unfortunately, with the first bite the chef recognized that the fish was good, however, the battered fish "was very salty", so he thought that the seasoning could be reduced a little. He rated it a 5.5.

Chicha-Paul Taco

This $65 peso taco is known to be the house specialty, and at first glance it surprised Danny as it was made of octopus chicharron, avocado, melted cheese, fried bacon, beans and a chipotle dressing. Yes, all that in a taco.

"The octopus is on point, it's not chewy," said Chef Betancourt.

When Danny took a second bite, he said it was the best recommendation he was given because "it is very tasty", not only the fried bacon was good, but also the tortilla, and the dressing that gave it a special touch, spicy but "tastes good", so he rated it with an 8.7.

Have you been to this taqueria? Which other one would you like the chef to visit?
