Dozens of restaurants across Baja California have once again put the region on the culinary map, earning a slew of distinctions in the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide Mexico.
The official unveiling took place on Wednesday, May 20, during a historic gala in Guadalajara, Jalisco, a state that made its debut in the star-studded event alongside the states of Puebla and Yucatán.
And when the spotlight hit, Baja California shone bright once more. The region ranked among the highest-rated in the country, with 17 restaurants from Ensenada, Tijuana, Mexicali, Valle de Guadalupe, and beyond earning recognition from the prestigious guide. Here’s the full list:

- Primitivo

Plus, three new establishments also earned a spot among the guide’s coveted recommendations:

Kitchens That Care for the Planet
Sustainability has become a major factor in Michelin’s evaluations, and Baja California’s chefs are proving they’re up to the challenge.
Several local businesses once again walked away with the Green Star distinction, an award that honors restaurants leading the way in eco-friendly and sustainable gastronomy. The honorees include:

- Deckman’s en el Mogor
- Lunario
- Olivea Farm To Table
Then there’s Damiana, a restaurant nestled in Valle de Guadalupe that surprised everyone by taking home its very first Green Star. The recognition came thanks to the kitchen’s deep commitment to sustainability, respect for the environment, and responsible management practices.

Meanwhile, the Michelin Guide also handed out its famous Bib Gourmand awards, a nod to restaurants that deliver the best bang for your buck. These spots are all about authentic, relaxed, and exceptional dining at a fair price.
