Civil Protection announces higher temperatures in Tijuana in the coming days

The WHO issued some recommendations to safely handle this hot weather that will dominate the region in the near future.

Civil Protection authorities announced the arrival of a high pressure system that will end up leading to a warm propensity, with generally clear conditions, as well as an increase in local temperatures, which will begin today and continue until Friday. The agency also warned the population about the risks that could arise due to sudden changes in temperatures.

The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates the following considerations to adequately manage high temperatures. First of all, keep the home ventilated. Also, avoid strenuous activities under the sun and stay hydrated with water, avoiding alcohol and caffeine.

It is necessary to take into consideration the people most at risk: infants, children, pregnant women, outdoor workers, athletes and the elderly, who should be offered assistance, especially if they live in isolated conditions. If the recommendations are not heeded due to the high temperatures, they may be prone to respiratory and even cardiovascular diseases.

It is necessary that the population avoids going to recreational areas with high temperatures such as beaches, parks or gyms, that is, places where crowds may occur, in order to maintain the restrictions of the Secretariat of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The population is asked to respect the sanitary measures to the fullest.
