Beginning this Monday, May 17, repaving work will begin at the Otay Port of Entry on the Mexican side of the border. The work will extend from this day until Thursday, May 20 and will only be from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., with the objective of not affecting the traffic that could be generated.

The work will be done with asphalt mix and will have 7 cm of compact thickness in an area of 3 thousand square meters. It is important to highlight that the work includes one thousand 300 square meters in area 1, which will affect lanes 9 to 13. Likewise, area 2 will also be treated and will include lanes 4 to 8.

This is the second busiest border crossing in Tijuana and the third busiest commercially on the northern border. According to the Tijuana City Hall, at least 14 thousand cars cross through this entrance every day, which will benefit from this work.

The Tijuana City Hall, through the Secretary of Territorial, Urban and Environmental Development (SDTUA) and the Directorate of Municipal Works and Urban Infrastructure (DOIUM) informs that it will begin resurfacing work on the traffic lanes.

Tijuana authorities recommend that it is necessary to be aware of official announcements and to keep in mind which days the work will begin and when it will end. This is in order to avoid a higher vehicular traffic in the areas being worked on.
