Is it official that the US-Mexico border will open in September?

Rumors are circulating that the expected reopening will take place in September, however, here is what U.S. authorities have said

Have you heard that the border will not open until September? You may have seen a screenshot pretending to belong to the U.S. Embassy in which they assured that the reopening will be on September 21, 2021.

However, this text, which looks slightly blurry, is fake news, because so far the U.S. authorities have not stated when the reopening, that all Mexicans with tourist visas are waiting for, will take place.

On the other hand, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Mexico also made an even more recent publication where it also confirms that it will be until July 21, 2021 when the border crossing situation will be updated.

"The states on the border with Mexico are actively vaccinating their population against COVID-19, expecting to reach the minimum recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shortly," said the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana in a statement.
