AMLO assures that those vaccinated with Sinovac and CanSino will be able to cross the border

The President of Mexico said that he is working with the United States on this issue

Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that people vaccinated against COVID-19 with antidotes other than Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer will be able to cross the border into the United States.

The President of Mexico commented that he is negotiating with the neighboring country on this issue as an economic reactivation is urgently needed, so citizens who have been vaccinated by Sinovac, CanSino, AstraZeneca or Sputnik should not have any restrictions.

"For those who have received other vaccines, we are also going to make arrangements in the United States so that we do not have any problem and I believe that we will be listened to, because they were analyzed vaccines that are proving their effectiveness. I got vaccinated with AstraZeneca", said the President.

AMLO commented that there is a good relationship with the U.S. government and highlighted the economic link between both nations, especially in trade as it is a productive chain. He urged not to keep the border closed as it affects businesses, especially in California and Texas.

"We need each other," he said.

Although he did not give a specific date for the reopening, he indicated that he will do his best to make it happen in August.
