Baja California registers no deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours

The accumulated number of confirmed infections in the state of Baja California is 55 thousand 567

Baja California currently has a total of 55 thousand 567 COVID-19 infections, according to the latest official figures published by the Secretariat of Health (SSa) today, August 22nd.

Regarding the number of deaths, in the last 24 hours there were no deaths caused by the coronavirus, so the number of deaths remains at 9 thousand and 18 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Statistics indicate that there are currently more than one thousand 400 active cases in Baja California.

The head of the State Health Department, Alonso Pérez Rico, confirmed last Saturday that the northern state would remain under the yellow level of the epidemiological traffic light chart for 2 more weeks due to the upward trend in infections registered in the region for the last few weeks.

The Mexican Republic reports no new cases of COVID-19, with an absolute number of 3 million 217 thousand 415 infections, of which 694 thousand and 61 are active. Deaths amounted to 252 thousand 927, while the number of recovered patients is already 2 million 270 thousand 427.

Mexico City, the State of Mexico and Nuevo Leon are currently the most affected states due to the third wave of coronavirus in the country.
