Fourth group of Afghans arrived in Mexico this Wednesday

SRE informed that on this day a new group arrived and that more will be arriving in the following days

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) informed that this September 1, a total of 175 Afghans arrived at Terminal 1 of Mexico City's International Airport, this would be the fourth group of refugees to arrive in the country.

The group is mainly made up of social media workers, activists, independent journalists who have been accompanied by their families, and with them come 75 minors.

According to a statement issued by the SRE: "In accordance with the principles of solidarity in cases of asylum, refugee and humanitarian protection of Mexico, it is expected that in the following days other groups of Afghan citizens will arrive in the country".

Likewise, it was announced that in order to carry out the necessary procedures, the government of Egypt was in communication with the SRE with the objective of keeping the political asylum seekers safe.
