Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard commented during the inauguration of the new office in Puebla that the updated document issued by the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE), in the case of minors, will include photographs of both parents and the minor.

While the photograph of the child will be in the regular area where the passport data is found; the photographs of the parents will be on the adjacent page so that once the book is opened the 3 images will be visible and the subjects can be identified.

"...in the passport you are going to notice, now that we start delivering them, which will be as of October 5, that we are going to place the photograph of the minor and the one of the father and mother will also be here, in the passport, for the first time in history, to be able to identify the minor and the parents", commented the Chancellor.

With this update in the documents, it is assured that an upgrade in security will be achieved by going from number 26 to 15 with these new identification measures.
