Tijuana schools receive smart boards from Mayor Karla Ruiz Macfarland

Each school will have 8 of these intelligent devices to improve their classrooms

Karla Patricia Ruiz Macfarland, Mayor of Tijuana, is preparing to equip municipal schools with the support of new technologies and digital devices, with the purpose of providing the educational sector with better tools for teaching and training students.

The Director of Information Technologies, Daniel Alberto Fabela Valdez, explained that this type of projectors were acquired for each of the schools, in this case, it is the Municipal Technical High School number 2, Xicoténcatl Leyva Alemán, the first to receive this board, which is an electronic projector and has several functions.

"With the help of an electronic pen, they can draw geometric figures, and if you make a wrong shape, it corrects it, they can write math operations, words and move them to both sides, save the exercises, send them to the students' different emails, use colors, as well as project video or surf the Internet through the computer and even have a video conference through the Zoom platform, among other functions," the official explained.

In her message, the mayor, Karla Patricia Ruiz Macfarland, said that this project is for the benefit of the school, therefore, teachers have been trained and certified with the support of Google, they continue to provide equipment and training for schools to be more prepared to provide quality education.

"I am very happy with this delivery of digital equipment such as these smart boards, because they are quality equipment and what we want is to go little by little with first level schools, so I hope they make good use of the equipment. I am satisfied to finish my administration because during these two years comprehensive work has been done to provide more modernity to the schools," she said.

It is worth mentioning that in past administrations, computer equipment was delivered to the different municipal schools, so that they could have a digital classroom, so now it will be complemented with these boards for each of the schools. Present at the event were: the Secretary of Municipal Public Education, Margarita Rosas Hernández; the private secretary of the Presidency, Magdalena Escalante and the principal of the Municipal Technical High School number 2, Xicoténcatl Leyva Alemán, Diana Concepción Arriaga Calvillo.
