Active cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in Baja California, breaking the record of active cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic in the state, with almost 3 thousand active cases.

During a press conference, the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, detailed that as of this Wednesday, there are 2 thousand 871 active cases, Mexicali leading with one thousand and 48, followed by the city of Tijuana with 912 and Ensenada with 494, being these the three municipalities that give strength to the pandemic in Baja California.

He also explained that the number of active cases is expected to continue to increase due to the fact that more tests are being carried out to detect the virus in the state and also due to the arrival of the winter season.
At the same time, the head of the agency announced that in just 24 hours 572 new cases and 15 deaths were reported.

As for hospitalizations in the state, there are 164 people hospitalized, of which 77 are intubated fighting for their lives against the lethal virus and according to the data provided by the agency, at least 90% of the intubated patients were not vaccinated.

The Secretariat of Health recommends to continue using masks, keep social distance, wash hands, go to fever clinics, stay in ventilated places and avoid conglomerations.
