Marina del Pilar launches Mobile Health Centers program in Baja California

This program will allow localities that do not have permanent services to have greater access to them

The Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda led the launching of the Mobile Health Centers, in accordance with the policy of safeguarding the health of Baja Californians, especially for those with less resources. These centers will allow localities to have greater access to health services, especially those that do not have permanent access to them.

In her message, the Baja California Governor highlighted the heart and commitment of the Baja California health personnel to favor all the communities of Baja California, in full awareness that most of the community's health problems are solved with timely and quality care.

This includes timely attention to maternal and child health, early detection of cardiovascular and cancerous diseases, as well as other ailments, represent an opportunity to improve the standard of living of the general population, especially the most disadvantaged groups of society.

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda pointed out that the Mobile Health Centers program also represents an exceptional opportunity to guarantee that all people receive adequate attention, which represents one of the greatest commitments of her administration. The "Con el Corazón por Delante" Health Caravans will be made up of 12 units that will offer medical consultation, vital signs check-ups, clinical laboratory, mastography, chest X-ray, electrocardiograms, dental consultation, eye exams and pediatric consultation, among other health services.

It should be noted that, according to a study of the technical capabilities of the mobile medical clinics, there is capacity to provide up to 396 services daily, which translates into about 100 thousand services annually, demonstrating the capacity and strength of the Baja California health system.

The kick-off event, which took place in the Nuevo León ejido in the Mexicali Valley, was attended by the Secretary of Health, J. Adrián Medina Amarillas; the President of the State Government's Health Commission, María Monserrat Rodríguez Murillo and the Baja California Secretary of Welfare, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán.
