The construction of a wetland in the Mexicali Valley begins with Marina del Pilar

The water will be cleaned with beautiful plants to reduce germs and foul odors as part of this initiative

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, lay the first stone of a contemporary wetland inspired by nature in Gudalupe Victoria (Kilometer 43) on Tuesday, which will clean up residual water and give crucial liquid to the Mexicali Valley's residents.

The project will be created with a 40 million peso investment by ARCA Continental and the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry on property held by the State Public Services Commission of Mexicali (CESPM), and will be transferred to the state government once finished.

The state president emphasized the government's, private initiative's, and organized society's involvement in carrying out this critical ecological activity, which would directly benefit 28 thousand people.

"Let us continue to work together," Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda stated. "Let us continue to arrive with our hearts ahead and a big social obligation to alter people's lives."

She underlined that the policies being implemented in her government are ones that prioritize the well-being of residents.

The water will be purified with ornamental plants to eliminate bacteria and bad odors, according to Jess Lucatero Daz, Arca Continental's Director of Public Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability. The wetland is expected to purify more than four million liters per day, equivalent to 800 pipes per day.

Norma Bustamante, the Mayor of Mexicali; Francisco Alberto Bernal Rodrguez, the head of SEPROA; José Armando Fernández Samaniego, the General Director of CESPM; and Sergio Londoo Zurek, Coca-Director Cola's of Public Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability, also attended the ceremony.
